My name is Jim Rooney, 
                                    Welcome to my Rowan Therapy site.
I trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist with The London College of Clinical Hypnosis  and am a Member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Hypnosis can be a usefull tool to help you Stop-Smoking and for Weight loss. Hypnosis can also help in many other areas too.

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis involves the use of positive suggestions to help change the way we feel or behave. During a Hypnosis session we access a trance state. The trance state is similar to the pleasant, comfortable and dreamy state we feel when we are just about to fall asleep or how we may feel when we have just awoken after a good nights sleep, or when we are daydreaming or watching a movie.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A TYPICAL HYPNOSIS SESSION
After taking an initial Case History from you I will then present back to you to you positive suggestion for the changes that you have requested. During the Hypnosis session and its associated relaxation your subconscious mind is more likely to accept these positive suggestions and to begin these positive changes, exactly as you have requested.

At all times during the session you will be fully aware of what is happening around you, and you may also be aware of being pleasantly detached and have a feeling of relaxation and comfort too.
 
A Hypnosis session will usually last for around one hour. The Stop-Smoking session may last a little longer.


LEARNING SELF-HYPNOSIS
Self-Hypnosis is a useful technique to learn that can help you make beneficial changes. Some people learn Self-Hypnosis as a simple but effective relaxation technique or as an aid to reducing high blood pressure. 

During the Self-Hypnosis session you will be taught how to become more  relaxed and focused. On becoming more relaxed and focused you can give yourself positive and beneficial suggestions only and these suggestions are more likely to become accepted by the subconscious mind in the Hypnotic state.

My premises are in Cumbernauld, which is easily accessible from Glasgow, Airdire and Falkirk. I can offer sessions during the day, early evening and weekends too. 

I can offer a mobile service if required, there is a £5 surcharge if I travel outside the Cumbernauld area.
